Itinerary Detail

Day 01 - Arrive Ktm, meet and transfer to the Hotel. Free rest of the day. In the evening briefing about Trekking.

Day 02 - Kathmandu - Dhunche - 1965m. (B,L,D)

Day 03 - Commence Trek and get to thulo Syabru. 2130m. (B.L.D)

Day 04 - Bamboo - 2180m (B,L,D)

Day 05 - Ghore Tabela - 3020m (B,L,D)

Day 06 - Lantang - 3500m (B,L,D)

Day 07 - Kyanjin Gompa - 3800m (B,L,D)

Day 08 - Birding excursion around Kyanjin Gompa (B,L,D)

Day 09 - Lama Hotel - 2380m (B,L,D)

Day 10 - Thulo Syabru - 2130m (B,L,D)

Day 11 - Chandanbari (Sing Gompa) - 3355m (B,L,D)

Day 12 - After Lunch trek to Cholang Pati (3700) (B,L,D)

Day 13 - After Lunch to Lauribina yak village. - 3900m (B,L,D)

Day 16 - Ghopte - 3485m (B,L,D)

Day 17 - Mangangot - 2800 m (B,L,D)

Day 19 - Chisa pani - 2194 m.(B,L,D)

Day 20 - Kathmandu through Shivapuri Natioanl Park.(B,L)

Day 21 - SS - Bhaktapur, Pashupati & Boudha. Fare well Dinner. (B.D)

Day 22 - Departure.


Langtang - Gosainkund Trek

Day 01 - Upon your arrival at the airport, our representative will transfer you to the Hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Trip briefing in the evening.

Day 02 - Kathmandu to Dhunche (1965 m)
You leave the hotel after your breakfast and drive towards north of Kathmandu. You will stop at Trishuli for lunch, which is about 5 hours drive from Kathmandu and drive further for another 3 hours to Dunche by passing through the Langtang National Park headquarter for over night.

Day 03 - Dhunche to Syabru (2130 m)
Passing through the Agricultural Project and small trading center at Dunche, the trail descends northeast towards Trishuli Khola through Bharkhu. Climbing through a pleasant oak, pine and rhododendron forested ridge, you reach a ridge about 7550 ft. from where you see the first spectacular view of Langtang valley. Langtang Lirung (23766 ft.). Ganesh Himal and some northern snow Peaks, including the Tibet's ranges are also visible. After making a short descent from the ridge you reach Syabru a beautiful Tamangi village strung out along a ridge. So it will take about 7-8 hours Birding walk from Dhunche to Syabru.

Day 04 - Syabru to Bamboo (2180 m)
Today the trial will be very interesting as it passes through the thick Bomboo and Rhododendron forest. It will be the best day for Birders. First the trail descends along the ridge to Langtang Khola for about 2 hours. No human inhabitants but you will find few teahouse on the way. It is equally rich in bird life and animals like deers, leopards, bears and monkeys. Lunch at Landslide Village then continue to Bamboo for over night. You will be walking about 7-8 hours in total.

Day 05 - Bamboo to Ghoretabela (3020 m)
Now you cross the northern bank of the Langtang Khola. Continuing up the valley through the thick rhododendron and prickly leaves oak forest the valley widens out, and pass the Lama Hotel, After a gradual climb above the river on the northern side of the Langtang Khola,you will reach Ghore Tabela for over night. You will have some more time to find many interesting species of birds around Ghore Tabela such as Rose Finches, Woodpeckers, Laughing Thrushes, Accentors, and even Himalayan Monal and many more. You will be walking about 6 hours today.

Day 06 - Ghoretabela to Langtang village (3500 m)
Taking first hour around Ghoretabela birding ,you will head to wards Langtang village, on the way pass the Royal Army Post, Continuing up the valley for another 4 hours, you will brings you to the Langtang Village. While you are there you can explore the birds around the village, the valley is beautiful in summer, which is noted for its birds and flowers.

Day 07 - Langtang to Kyangjing Gompa (3800m)
Climb gradually up the valley through Village, Fields and cross several moraines. The valley continues to widen and alpine pastures are reached near kyangjin Gompa village.
As you are enjoying the trail with birding and climbs on to a ridge dominated by the long row of Mani Walls. It then climbs gradually past the small villages of Manu and Singdom. Continuing through the Yak pastures it is easy to reach Kyangjin Gompa before lunch, allowing time to acclimatizes and explore the surroundings.

Day 08 - Explore more Birds in and around Kyangjing Gompa.
Between April to September you will find Ibisbills which breeds on the broad, gravelly river bed near this village. The panorama of the Langtang Himal is most impressive on this walk.

Day 09 - Kyangjing Gompa to Lama Hotel (2380 m)
Return journey to Lama Hotel.

Day 10 - To Syabru.
From Lama Hotel to Syabru the trail is scenic overlooking the green valley along the Langtang Khola.

Day 11 - Syabru to Sing Gompa (3355 m)
From Syabru once you left the place you climb passing the Gompa, school and army post and switchback up the hill above the village. The trail eventually ends at pleasant place called Dursang for lunch from where you can see the magnificent view of the Ganesh Himal and part of Annapurna Range. After your lunch the trail continues for another 2 hours less steeply, mostly through the pine forest to Sing Gompa is main attraction for Chandan Bari and also has few hotels and a Cheese factory. The Gompa is not well cared for; the caretakers open the Gompa for small fees. This area used to be the best place for Satyar Tragopan but that chance has moved to our next destination Deurali.

Day 12 - Sing Gompa to Cholang Pati (3700 m)
After a try for Satyar Tragopan in the morning and after lunch we will climb steeply up the ridge. After the ridge the trail crosses behind and stays in the deep forest for a while and you will enter the village Deurali which will take about 3 hours walk for over night. Good area for varieties of birds and specially for Satyar Tragopan and Blood Pheasant and many more. But we may have to walk down for couple of hours to find them some time and come back. We do this on next morning before lunch.

Day 13 - Deurali to Lauribina yak. (3900 m)
After lunch as the trail ascends, there are outstanding views of cross Langtang Valley to Langtang Lirung, along Lauribina. as you ascend up Lauribina the views are just magnificent - you can see Annapurnas, Manaslu, Gansesh Himals, unnamed Tibetan Mountains and finally Langtang Lirung. Continue up the alpine county after 2-3 hours walk you will reach the Lauribina yak for over night stay.

Day 14 - Lauribina yak to Gosaikunda. (4380 m)
Continue up the alpine country to the ridge at the elevation of 4100m. The trail climbs further to view the first of lakes, Saraswoti Kund. After the trail climb gently towards the Gosain Kund you also pass the Bhairab Kund before the ridge and the trail drops down 20 meters to the third and the largest lake, Gosain Kund, at an elevation of 4830 metres. Every year in the month of August, full moon day, thousands of pilgrims and devotees come to the sacred lake to take holy bath in devotion to Lord Shiva. According to the legend, Lord Shiva thrusting his trident, into the glacier to obtain water to quench his thirst, caused by consuming some poison, creates the lake.

Day 15 - Gosain Kund to Phedi (3600 m)
The trail Gosain Kund to Phedi, passes north side of the Lake and you will climb further through the rugged country towards the pass. Passing three more small beautiful lakes, you will finally reach Lauribina Pass at 4610m. From the pass the trail descends along side a stream to Phedi for overnight. Lunch on the way. You will be walking about 5-6 hours today.

Day 16 - Phedi to Ghopte ( 3485 m)
Across the valley, you can see a ridge with a steep trail at an angle of 45 degree. Yes, this is where you are going. From this ridge, you descend through the forest, climbing in and out of ravines reach Thare Danda. then to Ghopte In 4-5 hours from phedi, you will reach Ghopte on one of the ridges where you see the temporary settlement and basic guest house. Is best place for many good birds like Fire-tailed Myzornis, Gould's Shortwing, Parrotbills, and even another chance for Satyar Tragopan, Blood Pheasant, Himalayan Monal and many more.

Day 17 - Ghopte to Mangangot, (2800 m)

AS you descend down the ridge at Ghopte, the trail continues up ravines and across the boulders, then make the final ascend to Tharepati. It takes you about 3-5 hours to reach Tharepati at 3490m. The trails from Tharepati all the way to Kathmandu is downhill except in couple of places. Another couple of hours downhill takes you to Mangangot for over night. This is last place where you can aspect to see Satyar Tragopan, Himalayan Monal and Blood Pheasant and many more good birds.

Day 18 - Mangangot to Gul Bhanjyang (1750 m)
Descend through some small villages in between Oak, pine and subtropical forest and middle hill good birds. It will take about 6-8 hours today.

Day 19 - Gul Bhanjyang to Chisapani (2194 m)
From Gulbhanjyang you can easily reach to Chisapani in about 5-7 hours, the view from Chisapani is spectacular enough to justify a night here.

Day 20 - Chisapani to Kathmandu (1300 m)
The trail will take you to Mulkharka the first village on the trail from Sundarijal is the sprawling Tamang settlement at an elevation of 1895m. Passing Pathibhanjyang and Boran Bhanjyang for lunch. After having lunch you will walk about an hour and half to reach Sundarijal, elevation 1350 m. There is a large water project that supplies much of Kathmandu's drinking water in an immense pipe.

Day 21 - This morning we visit the medieval city of Bhaktapur, also known as Bhadgaon. It is situated about 17 kms. East of Kathmandu and was one of the three kingdoms of the Mallas. Here we shall visit the Lion Gate, Picture Gallery, beautiful embellished Golden Gate and 17th century Palace of Fifty fife Windows. The city's ancient temples and palaces are magnificent examples of Newari craftsmanship with their beautiful carved wooden windows and lattice work, and Bhaktapur's people are still renowned for their pottery and hand woven fabrics, including the traditional local red and black saris.

In the afternoon we visit the Pashupatinath Temple, famous for its superb architecture, two - tiered golden roof and sliver doors. Built in 1696 and dedicated to Lord Shiva, Pashupatinath is the most sacred of Nepal's Hindu temples and a famous pilgrimage site. Before returning to the city, we also pay a visit to Boudhanath, the world's largest stupa, and a site of great veneration for Buddhists. Fare well Dinner with culture program.

Day 22 - Transfer to TIA for final departure.
