Phulchowki (2760 m) is the highest of the mountains encircling the Kathmandu valley. This broad-leafed-sub tropical forest is the richest for birds and wildlife in the valley and remains the most convenient place to see some of the birds that are rare or local to Nepal. Phulchowki lies 18 km southeast of Kathmandu above Godawari village (1525 m).

This day we start early from your hotel and drive about 40 minutes to reach at base the hill then climb the hill with many interesting birds. you will spend a whole day in the hill; you will have pack lunch in the good birding area in the hill

Post breakfast transfer to Kathmandu Domestic Airport to connect flight to Biratnagar, upon arrival at Biratnagar transfer to your hotel.

Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve lies on the alluvial flood-plain of Sapta Koshi River in south-eastern lowland. Almost all eastern and western embankments of the river define the area.

The Reserve was officially gazetted in 1976 giving it a status of the wildlife reserve having an area of 175 sq.km. The River Sapta Koshi (largest river of Nepal) flows through the Reserve which is one of three main tributes of Ganges.

The mighty River Koshi calm in winter, swells up largely in monsoon brining severe flood problems and often changes its course. The depth of the river fluctuates largely from season to season.
Riverine forest dominates the vegetation of the reserve. Sal forest and grassland are also found to the west of the Koshi River. This diverse habitat of different vegetation type and wetland and scrub side makes the faunal wealth of this place incomparable to other protected area system of Nepal of which birds dominate the scenery.
Arna or wild Buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) and Gangetic Dolphin (Platanista gangetic) are the main attraction of Mammals in this reserve. The lesser mammalian species include varieties of deer, cats, otters, bats, boar etc.
Around 500 species of birds have been recorded in the reserve area which mostly includes waterfowls, birds of prey, waders and other water birds.
Globally threatened “Swamp Francolin” (Ortygornis gularis) becomes a familiar bird frequently coming on everyday list here.
Koshi barrage although not inside but close and south of the reserve has created a vast expanse of water – making this place by far the most important staging point for migrating birds and an all – the – year – round playground for residents.
Lesser-known reptiles, amphibians, fishes and arthropods are worth exploring here.
Besides these, wealth of flora and fauna, natural scenery for sun rise adds more life to a nature – lover while being at Koshi. On a clear day a glimpse of Makalu (8463 meters) the world’s fifth highest mountain and Mt Everest, enhances the beauty of the area in an inexplicable way.

Sidhuli Gadhi is an historical fort and tourist attraction in central Nepal. Sindhuli Gadhi is famous for the battle between the then Gorkha Army and the British troop.

This historical place is fully covered with lush sub-tropical hill forest which is nearest higher hill from warm terai of Janakpur district that many people visit there to enjoy the nice and cool temperature. and it is a very good place for some of the birds that are rare and difficult to see somewhere else even in Nepal.

After early morning bird watching around the best area to find your target species of birds  you will have little late breakfast then drive to Chitwan National Park, 220 Kms, about 5 hrs drive. Overnight at Comfortable wildlife Resort.

To view mammalian fauna of Tarai region of the country is to visit the Chitwan National park (above 150m. elevation), considered to be of the finest wildlife parks in South – East Asia. Besides the excitement of suddenly coming upon a Tiger or a Rhino, one can view here impressive wild animals such as graceful deers, peaceful Gaur, full grown wild boar, sloth Bear and many more. Here the sound of songbirds and peacocks mellows the ears of visitor. Within 952 Sq. kms of the Chitwan National Park contains over 694 Rhinos, about 145 Royal Bengal Tigers, four species of deer (more than 53 kinds of mammals), and over 550 species of birds.
Chitwan National Park is located about 180km. Southwest of Kathmandu. The easiest way to reach there is of course to fly half an hour to Bharatpur. From there tourists are transferred by privet vehicle to the Jungle Lodges. The drive from Kathmandu to Chitwan National Park generally takes 5 to 6 hours and that gives you chances to see some interesting species of Birds you may enjoy. The Chitwan National Park can also be reached by a river rafting journey but takes longer time. Here all visitors can stay in comfort while experiencing one of the best wildlife activities along with best birding.

Lumbini, The birthplace of the Lord Buddha:

Siddhartha Gautam or Lord Buddha was born in 623 B.C. in the famous garden of Lumbini, which soon became a place of pilgrimage. Among the pilgrims was the Indian emperor Ashoka who erected one of his commemorative’s pillars there. the site is now being developed as a Buddhist pilgrimage center, where the archaeological remain associated with the birth of the Lord Buddha form a central feature.

Also to see unusual sighting anywhere else in Nepal is Sarus Crane, The Lumbini Crane Sanctuary in Nepal is a protected habitat dedicated to the endangered Sarus Crane, this is the tallest flying bird in the world.

After early morning breakfast drive to Bardia National Park via Jagdishpur Wetland to see some unusual species- 280 kms on along East-West highway takes about 6 to 7 hours to your Jungle lodge which is built right on the park boundary. we may wonder around nearby area in the evening for some special OWLING activities.

Bardia Located in the mid – western region of Nepal, east of the Karnali River, the Bardia National Park is the largest and one of the undisturbed wilderness areas in the Nepalese Tarai. Proclaimed in 1988 specifically to ensure survival of Tiger and its prey species as well as to conserve a representative ecosystem of the mid-west Tarai of Nepal including flora and fauna. The park sprawls over 968 sq. km. The park sits at the foot of Churia hills (Siwalik range). The scenic Babai River flows through the park.
The Bardia National Park is reckoned as one of the richer wildlife treasure troves of Nepal. Formerly known as the Royal Bardia Wildlife Reserve, the richness of Bardia National Park has all along been recognized.
A range of species typical of the Nepalese Tarai are found here. It is one of the few refuges for the Swamp Deer or Barasingha. Even the blackbuck is found in quite a fair number which can frequently be sighted at Khairapur.

It is one of the finest habitats for the Tiger. Bardia National Park has become one of the finest places to view tigers in the wild. Other animals that inhabit the area are wild elephants, Gharial crocodiles, Marsh Muggar crocodiles, Fresh Water Gangetic dolphin, leopard, civet cats, Rhesus and langur monkeys, Nilgai and deer. The Asian One-horned Rhinoceros have been introduced here from the Chitwan National Park. Among the rich selection of bird life are the Bengal Florican (rare), Silver-eared Mesia, Great slaty Woodpecker, White-napped Woodpecker, Yellow-crowned Woodpecker and several others.

Observation and viewing of wild animals are done here on Game Drives or on foot at safety areas.

Transfer to Nepalgunj Airport and fly back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel, Rest of the day at leisure or walking around Kathmandu downtown to see local people life and do some shopping if needed.

After breakfast, we visit the medieval city of Bhaktapur, also known as Bhadgaon. It is situated about 17 kms. East of Kathmandu and was one of the three kingdoms of the Mallas. Here we shall visit the Lion Gate, Picture Gallery, beautiful embellished Golden Gate and 17th century Palace of Fifty fife Windows. The city’s ancient temples and palaces are magnificent examples of Newari craftsmanship with their beautiful carved wooden windows and latticework, and Bhaktapur’s people are still renowned for their pottery and hand-woven fabrics, including the traditional local red and black saris.
